Conclusion



The reflection on the 3 topics helps me to understand more on HRIS. 

The ELD system is needed to implement by organization for their long term development of employee to increase their potential in future work. The web base compensation and planning is very essential for HR managers in dealing and managing the compensation records of employee in a systematic way. Furthermore, the web-based OSH is must be emphasized by every organization in provide the employees’ with safe and healthy environment and working condition.

Finally, I like to thank my lecturer, Dr. Roya and my classmates to help me in learning this HRIS subjects.  The information that I learnt in this subject will be crucial for my future career as HR manager.

Web-Based Occupational Safety and Health



Web based occupational safety and health is a system that provides employee the information about OSH in the organization. OSH is importance in maintaining and facility resources in organization (Mark A. Friend, 2010 ) .the system are can access by employees, employer and also department of occupational safety and health to review and utilize the OSH issue in organization.
            During the lesson, I learnt the importance of OSH for organizational effective management which is humanitarian consideration, cost and legal.
1.      Humanitarian consideration
Every organization must emphasize on the safety and health of their employees. The safety and health of employee will increase the loyalty and motivation to work and directly improve organizational performance.

2.      Cost
The application of OSH in organization will reduce the possibility of accidents and casualties to occur. This will prevent the various cost such employee’s accidents cost and faulty machinery cost.

3.      Legal
Every organization must follow and comply the occupational safety and health act. The act is comprised to make sure organization to have safe and health working environment.

Furthermore, I have to write about function of web-based OSH during class activity. This makes understand more on the topic.
1.      Compensation claims
The system can use by employee to access and claim their compensation. Compensation such as health insurance and safety claim can be made online through organization OSH portal.
2.      Record keeping
The system is can be used to report any accidents or casualties that occur in the organization. The system also uses to store data regarding all OSH related reports. The system is use as training tool which keeping all training information.

Besides, I also learnt about the strengths and weakness of this web based OSH. Some of the strength I learnt is:
1.      Reduce accidents
Application of OSH in organization will taught employee the importance of OSH. This will increase the employees’ awareness and this will reduce the probabilities of accidents occur in organization.
2.      Increase employees’ motivation and satisfaction
The employees’ will felt secure and motivate in doing their work if the organization comply the OSH act. 

The weaknesses of this web-based OSH are:
1.      Server problem
The system cannot be used if there is internet connection problem. This will create problems such as data lose and problem in reporting accidents.
2.      Costly
The utilization of this web-based OSH will cost high. Thus, the system is usually use only by large organization.

Web-Based Compensation and Planning



Web-based compensation is online tools in where the organization store and manage the  compensation information and data.
The first thing I learn in this topic is component of compensation subsystem.
1.      Fixed compensation
This type compensation is the pay receives by employee. One of the important pay in this compensation is salary.
2.      Variable compensation
This compensation is involved bonuses, commissions and other benefits.
3.      Stock
This compensation is involved equity benefits or ownership in the company.

          I also learnt that the web-based compensation have many strengths that beneficial for both employee and employer.
1.      Accuracy
The data store in the system is valid which provide the insight about employee’s requirement to receive their reward.

2.      Time effective
The system enables the employee to access and edit their own information when changes occur. This saves time for employer to collect information separately or any incorrect data which can trigger any problems and conflict in compensation plan.

3.      Systematic
The web-based system is very organizes and easy to access by both employee and employer. The employee can access and track their compensation plan provide by organization. While, the employer can edit and updating the employees compensation plan where adequate information is available in the system.

4.      Reduce administration cost
The system prevents expenses such as documents and manpower in collecting and analyzes the compensation plan for their employee. Every compensation plan can be done with the web-based system anytime and anywhere.

Although the system is providing many benefits, it’s also cause few disadvantages:
1.      Complexity
The system is not user friendly where it contains many features. These features may be difficult for some employee to use without a proper assistance from management.
2.      Server problem
The system cannot be access when server is down and this can interfere the management of compensation plan.

I’m also got understanding about implication of online compensation system:
1.      The system is very effective for employee where they can review and track any changes in their compensation plan.
2.      The system is very convenient for HR manager to collect and utilize the information in compensation plan.
3.      The system also easy for both employee and employer to obtain information with computer at anytime and anywhere.
4.      The system is use as a channel and link of communication between employee and employer to post information about compensation plan.

Web-Based Employee Learning and Development



Employee learning and development (ELD) in HRIS is means the employee’s access to the sophisticated, flexible and effective HRIS application. ELD is a collective progress that supports organizational goals (Harrison, 2005 ).
In this topic, I learnt about the purpose of web based ELD which are: 

1.      Improve employee performance
Employee can learn and develop themselves by web-based ELD where they can access and improve their needs. For example is E-Learning and online training prograns which is easy and quick way to gain information.

2.      Development programs
Web based development program is conduct to prepare and secure long term employees’ development and performance. For example, online course development available is identifying the employees’ need and improves it for future work.

3.      Employee competitiveness
All employees’ have access to web-based ELD and it will provide competition among workers. This competitiveness will encourage high level performance in doing task.

4.      Minimize stress
Online learning is easy and quick which prevent work overload. This can reduce stress and physiology effect among employees.

I also have understood about 5 components of ELD systems which are:

1.      Employee personal information 
     The component involves the details of employees such as their identification, their background and position in the organization.

2.      Performance before training 
     This component involves Key Performance Index (KPI) which uses to measure the organization progress toward their objectives and goals.

3.      Training course
This component involves the development plan which comprises the details such as modules and training method.

4.      Training transfer
This component explains how the development occurs and links or channel used. The development is transfer through skill training and forum activity.

5.      Program evaluation
This component involves the details of evaluation such as the evaluator, the methods use and the outcome which determine by pre-test and post-test.

At the end of the topic, I analyze the benefits and weakness of this ELD system. Benefits of ELD System are:
1.      Cost effective
The web based learning is less expensive where employee learns information manual and at any time they want.
2.      IT skill
The ELD system improves the employee employees’ computer skill.
Weakness of ELD system.
1.      Skill restriction
Employee without computer skill will have difficulty to access the system.
2.      No social interaction
The system delivers only using computer and there is no one to ask if the employee have any question.
